The Making of MLDT 01: A Fusion of Passion and Ingenuity
Building the MLDT 01 drone was no small feat. The project, completed over three months, cost ₹3.5 lakh. Measuring 1.8 meters in length and width, the drone is equipped with four powerful motors originally designed for agricultural drones. With a horsepower capacity of 45, the drone can fly continuously for six minutes, albeit at a safe height limit of 10 meters for now.
Key Features of MLDT 01:
- Weight Capacity: Can carry up to 80 kilograms.
- Speed: Flies at 60 kilometers per hour.
- Safety: Limited to a maximum height of 10 meters for current testing.
- Dimensions: 1.8 meters in both length and width.
Medhansh credited his teacher, Manoj Mishra, for providing invaluable technical guidance and motivation throughout the journey.
A Vision for the Future
While the MLDT 01 is already a remarkable achievement, Medhansh has ambitious plans for its future development. He aims to transform the drone into a hybrid model that is more versatile and practical. “In the future, I will make drones useful for common people which can be used to carry goods, transport a person to another place, and in agriculture,” he explained.
Beyond enhancing the MLDT 01, Medhansh envisions setting up his own air taxi company. He dreams of creating affordable air transportation solutions, including cost-effective helicopters, to make flying accessible to the masses.
